  Our menu is comprised of only the best, fresh, local produce. Our suppliers include the award-winning Andrew Armstrong (Farmers & Butchers) Ltd from Bakewell. This means that our menu changes on a regular basis depending on the season and what ingredients freshly available.

Lunch
We serve a set lunch menu all through the year and during the warmer summer months this is extended with a selection of salads and light snacks.

Wine
We have an extensive selection of very reasonably priced wines of different grapes from around the world. The wines have been carefully selected by the owners.

British venison smoked locally with apple, date and walnut chutney

Field mushroom, butter and smoked paprika with melted goats cheese

Marinated herring fillet with lemon and onion served with an herb salad
and mustard vinaigrette

Wild Mushroom and shallot Strogonoff
Served with basmati rice and flat leaf parsley

Rib-eye Steak au Poivre
Derbyshire rib-eye steak cooked to your liking served with a creamy peppercorn sauce

Char grilled Vegetables with Chickpea Mash
Mediterranean vegetables char grilled on top of a chickpea and garlic mash


Mahi Mahi with Cajun Spice
Lighter than tuna, mahi pan fried with Cajun spice and greek yoghurt

Desserts

Chocolate and Orange Gateau
Served with Chocolate Mint Ice –Cream
Accompanied with an Antique Sherry Ximinez

Profiteroles
filled with ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce

Apple Tarte Tatin
Flambé in Calvados served with Vanilla Ice-Cream

Wines to look out for:

Bonjour, welcome to G&T’s wine list. Marc from G&T’s and Ed from Boutinot Wines have made a few changes but kept some of your favourites such as the Marques de la Villa Malvasia and Marktree wines.

Look out for…

…. Crowded House Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand is one of the newest estates in Marlborough (home of Cloudy Bay) but is already establishing itself as a rising star. The vines are planted on a high ridge in the heart of Marlborough’s best vineyards, but no one had thought of planting on it until Ant Moore did. Crop levels are kept low as the vines are more exposed to the wind therefore producing wines with more concentration;

….. Chateau Pineraie Cahors comes from South West France like Marc and this is one of his Mums favourite wines, so we had to list it!!

Chateau Pineraie, Cahors, France This wine comes from the same place as Marc! But don’t let that put you off this blend of Malbec (known locally as Cot) and a dash of Merlot with its ripe red cherry fruits and some liquorice on a long finish. A real alternative to more pricey Bordeaux reds. £15.95
Marktree Merlot Cabernet Shiraz 2004, Australia Textbook Aussie red with cassis laced with chocolate, eucalyptus and spice. £14.95

Pouilly Fuisse Cuvee a L’Ancienne 2004/5, France Classic Burgundian with mealy citrus fruits encased in creamy vanilla and dried apricot and peach fruits. £25.95
Paarl Heights Chenin Blanc 2005, Paarl, South Africa Off dry and quite complex with spicy apple and honeyed peach. £14.25

Freshly made parsnip and sweet ginger soup

Home-made chicken liver and cointreau pate with onion marmalade

Ogen melon with seasonal berries and blackcurrant coulis

Deep fried brie with a hot fruit compote

Main course:

Barbary duck breast with a sweet port reduction

English traditional roast turkey with stuffing and chipolata sausage

Pan fried fillet of tuna with cajun spice and Greek yoghurt

Pork stroganoff with basmati rice

Leek and spinach gratin with goats cheese
